Arne Næss and his deep ecology

This is the task I got at school: how does what you read about wildlife and what you read about pollution relate to Arne Næss's deep ecology that you have worked with in RLE. Write a short blog where you reflect on this.

Arne Næss (1912-2007) was a philosopher from Norway. He was the founder og deep ecology. Næss and his supporters meant that the human being had to change their way of living, instead of thinking that the nature had to adapt the humans. The deep ecology's main theme is to question the western way to live. They wants humans to thinke about the nature and animals before always themself.

I think todays writing in media about wildlife fits to Næss's theory. This is because the humans have to think about other before themselfs all the time. One example could be the animals. One of the animals that is among the endangered species is the tiger. We cut down their home, the forest, because we want to make papir and build buildings. We thinks about ourselfs before the result for the animals. I mean this is close to Arne Næss's thinking way in relation to deep ecology.

Another thing to think about is our way to live, especially in the western part of the world. F.ex. if all humans in world had lived like norwegians do today, there is a change that the world would go under. This is a typical example that shows that we got a livingway that is not good. I think Arne Næss's organic thinking way is a good theory. If all the people had began to think in this way, I think the world would bee a better place to live, for humans and animals in the hole world.
